This Privacy Policy explains how Velari Optics ("Velari", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data of visitors and customers in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR").

  • Identification data: name, email, billing and shipping address, phone number.
  • Order data: products purchased, order history, payment status (we do not store full card details).
  • Technical data: IP address, browser, device, pages viewed, cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
  • Communication data: messages you send via the contact form or email.

3. Purposes and legal basis

  • Processing orders and providing customer service โ€” performance of contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Accounting and tax obligations โ€” legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • Marketing emails and analytics โ€” consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), withdrawable at any time.
  • Fraud prevention and site security โ€” legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Recipients

Your data may be shared with carefully selected processors acting on our behalf: payment providers, shipping carriers, hosting providers (including Shopify Inc. for storefront and checkout, and Cloudflare for web infrastructure), and email service providers. All processors are bound by data processing agreements compliant with the GDPR.

5. International transfers

Some processors are located outside the EU/EEA. In such cases transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and additional safeguards where required.

6. Retention

  • Order and invoicing data: 10 years (legal requirement).
  • Account data: until account deletion plus 3 years.
  • Marketing data: until consent withdrawal plus 3 years.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may exercise these rights by writing to privacy@velari-optics.eu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure.
